“Thank you so much, the pictures are amazing we love them! They tell the story of our day perfectly. Oh I can’t stop looking at them.” – Syra
One of the best things about wedding photography is making new friends and meeting old ones. Syra and Mark’s wedding was for us an opportunity to do both. Syra had been the bridesmaid and Mark a guest at Natasha and Paddy’s wedding, and now Natasha was bridesmaid and Paddy a guest at Syra and Mark’s wedding, so there were familiar faces all round! For the ceremony part of the day, there was just closest circle of around 20 guests, mainly closest family, so we really felt warmly welcomed among a close circle of old friends, and were really made to feel like warmly welcomed guests who just happened to have cameras.
The plan had originally been to have the ceremony outside, and the day was a lovely bright one, but with such a strong wind that it was feared feared that the guests’ hats would blow off, not to mention the risk of ruined hairdos, so the ceremony was shifted to inside the Prestonfield House Hotel. The decision was a good one, and there was plenty of time to wander round the lovely grounds during the drinks after the ceremony, when we also took the opportunity to take some portraits of Syra and Mark, both inside and out.
Then we all joined up for the evening festivities, with more guests arriving, at the Voodoo Rooms, close to the East end of Princes Street. There were more familiar faces among the guests. The whole atmosphere of the day was one of relaxed happiness, and of warmth, and jollity, all the essential ingredients of a group of close family and friends all there to enjoy themselves in one another’s company.
